Ninka-Bernadette Mauritson is a journalist, health influencer, bestselling writer, and health coach. Her son was diagnosed with autism at the age of four, but she was able to turn all of his symptoms around and she believes that the current autism epidemic is a “big wakeup call” to mothers and the Western world.
For years, her son spent weekends in institutions due to constant screaming, tantrums, aggression, sleeplessness, and no eye contact. No one in their family was sleeping through the night. But, together, they were able to eliminate every symptom in just three years.
Because Ninka wasn’t willing to keep playing the victim, which she sees a lot of in the autism community and she experienced firsthand. She started traveling around the world to learn from doctors who specialized in nutrition and lifestyle for autism. She had to find a way to respect her son’s bio-individuality, understand him, and overcome picky eating and overwhelm.
Ninka not only succeeded but found a holistic method that no one else in the autism community was talking about. She didn’t understand why at the time, but she knew that sharing this was her life purpose; she needed to help other families get the tools that she used to help her son and herself.
I know this is a sensitive topic for a lot of people, but I encourage you to listen before you react. There are a lot of really interesting stories and data here, including some new research on biotypes and bio-individuality that I learned about for the first time in this conversation. I learned a lot and, if you give this episode a chance, I know you will too.
